Topping Off Your Tank Could Cost You $1000
You put the nozzle in your tank and set the lever so it automatically pumps... click! It's full but you squeeze the handle to top it off, right? Did you know doing this could severely damage your vehicle?
KARE 11 shared a report on the “evaporative emission system” found in all vehicles. It's designed to collect gas fumes and keep them from getting into the environment. Their story says the extra gas you try to squeeze into your tank can get into the evaporative emission system and do some serious damage.
Getting your EES fixed or replaced can easily cost you $1,000 or more.
So remember, when you hear the click your tank is full.
