Top 3 Ultimate Skiing Hills in Minnesota for 2021
I hate to break it to you, but winter is coming. Though we haven't seen much snow, I have had to deal with a frosted car windshield a few times! If that doesn't scream winter in Minnesota, I don't know what does (besides wearing 18 layers of clothes and trudging through a foot of snow each day).
One of the only saving graces about the cold is the return of one of Minnesota's favorite winter activities: downhill skiing (and tubing).
If you're planning on taking a skiing adventure this winter, head to one of these top-rated ski hills. They've been voted Minnesota's Best!
Winning A Bronze Medal is Afton Alps
This was the first ski hill I had ever been to, and it's a popular one. Located in Hastings, Minnesota, Afton Alps houses nearly 300 acres of skiable land. The ski hill has 300 feet of vertical drop. Great for beginning skiers.
Winning A Silver Medal is Buck Hill
Though I've driven past this hill numerous times, I've never actually skied here. This hill opened in 1954 and offers ski, snowboarding, and tubing trails. Buck Hill is located in the Twin Cities suburb of Burnsville.
Winning A Gold Medal is Lutsen Mountains
This hill is very well-known. Rightfully so! Lutsen Mountains is Midwest's largest ski resort. The mountains sit aside the north coast of Lake Superior and provide four interconnected ridges, 95 runs, and an 825-foot vertical rise.
I must admit, I'm definitely not skilled enough to attempt an 825-foot drop. I'd probably break every bone in my body and then some.
Though winter isn't necessarily a beloved time in Minnesota, I know many are prepared to tackle some fantastic hills. The question is, are you ready?
