A three vehicle accident north of Blooming Prairie on Highway 218 sent two people to the hospital with injuries Sunday. The accident occurred just before 10am.

A northbound car driven by a North Carolina woman slowed to make a left turn onto a private driveway when a vehicle driven by 86 year old Joseph Schammel of Rose Creek struck the North Carolina's woman car. Her car then rotated and struck a pickup that was also northbound and driven by 28 year old Christopher Anderson of Cambridge. Schammel along with his passenger 87 year old Irene Schammel of Rose Creek were taken to the Austin hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
