Initially, if you were in the area of Wapacuta Park in Faribault recently you may have wondered what was going on with all the snow fencing. Well, the City of Faribault's Park and Recreation Department recently took to social media to share the transformation that recently took place at the park/basketball court.

The post to the Faribault Parks and Recreation Facebook page shows the newly resurfaced and painted basketball courts at Wapacuta Park. Wow, these courts look fantastic!

According to the City of Faribault Wapacuta Park features 8.5 acres  grass that also includes a playground, picnic areas, picnic shelters, restrooms, water, basketball court, and disc golf holes.

The next time you are in the area of the park stop and check out those newly refinished courts.

Also, talking about Faribault's parks, get on down to Bell Field tomorrow night as the Faribault Lakers are being featured on Fox 9's Townball Tour. The feature starts with the 5 pm news on Fox 9. The TV station will hang out at the field throughout the game and do updates throughout the evening. It should be a mighty fine time for folks if you enjoy baseball.

The Lakers are hosting the Rochester Royals with the game slated to begin at 7:30pm.

On top of all of that action going on tomorrow, the Rice County Fair also is kicking off tomorrow morning, so there is going to be lots to do this week in Rice County and more specifically in Faribault.
