We all know that Valentine's Day is coming up, in a little more than a week. It's a day dedicated to the more romantical type of love, nowadays. The shelves at the stores are filled with special candies, including in the heart shaped boxes, and the cards for the kiddos to exchange at school are there as well.

If you are looking to get your special someone a gift this year, these are the gifts to avoid, according to our unofficial Facebook poll:

  • Nothing - from Gina R.
  • A shotgun box full of candy - Dacota would rather have had the shotgun
  • Anything with a cord - Noemi shared this one, we also had a vacuum mentioned by Ann

In my most humble opinion, these answers are great, however, sometimes all your sweetie wants is an appliance, like a nice french press coffee maker, or a new mixer.  So, if you're leaning towards a practical gift, and she/he has ASKED for it, by all means get her/him what they want.

So there you go, that is what our Facebook poll showed for gifts to just say no to....If you need help with selecting a gift, a card can go a long way. Flowers? Candy? If that's too traditional, or your relationship isn't defined, tickets to the movies, a play, sporting event could all be good ideas.
