Tesla Driver Wrecks Car While Watching Movie on Autopilot
Here is a textbook example of what not to do with your $75,000 Tesla.
According to a report, a driver in Raleigh, North Carolina, was apparently watching a movie while having the auto pilot feature turned on. While failing to pay attention to the road, Devainder Goli, slammed into a Nash County Sheriff's Office Deputy vehicle. Officials state that they were responding to an earlier crash when Goli crashed into the Deputy's vehicle which in turn hit the State Trooper's vehicle who was also responding to the original traffic accident. The Tesla and Deputy's vehicle were totaled while no one was injured.
While the auto pilot feature on the Tesla are a helpful feature, you will still need to be paying attention to the road incase you will have to make an emergency stop. Goli is accused of violating the move-over law and watching television while operating a vehicle.
