Interviews with coaches from Saturday, Feb. 7 KRFO Coaches Shows. Sections were a big topic this week. And two local teams captured conference titles!

Owatonna High School wrestling won its Senior Night match-up with Faribault. Huskies boys hockey lost at Northfield. Boys swimming and adapted floor both won home meets.

Scoreless through two periods, No. 9-ranked Lakeville North got on the board early in the third period on their way to a 3-0 victory over Owatonna in the 1AA quarterfinals.

Owatonna High School boys basketball staged a big come-from-behind rally to beat Winona. The girls lost at Winona. OHS boys hockey topped Red Wing 4-3 in OT.

Girls hockey playoffs begin Wednesday. Owatonna is the seventh seed and will play at Lakeville North, the defending section champion. Lakeville South is the top seed.

Owatonna girls basketball hosted Coaches vs Cancer on Saturday. They lost the game to Rochester JM, but raised about 2,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society.

Owatonna High School wrestling went 2-1 at the Panther Duals at Lakeville North. NRHEG basketball swept Medford, while Blooming Prairie split versus USC.

Coaches Vs. Cancer and a plunge into Lake Kohlmier highlight the weekend locally. Also, the rivalry rematches in hockey between Owatonna and Faribault occur on Saturday.

Owatonna High School hockey swept Winona on Thursday night and the Huskies boys swimmers earned their first win of the season.

Huskies boys and girls hockey, plus boys swimming and the adapted floor hockey team are all in action Thursday.
