The first 2024 bear harvest numbers are in from the Minnesota DNR and they are impressive. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. The first days of the Bear hunt September 1-3 Schmitt says, more bear were shot in the state that all of last season.

The DNR has released preliminary results on the grouse population based on drumming counts. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON. Schmitt describes drumming as when male grouse beat their wings quickly with the intent of signaling territory and attracting females.

The nice weather made for a couple of pleasant days sitting outside. And I did have a few critter visitors come by my stand to hang out.
