The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office sent out a news release this afternoon stating that there had been an attempted bank robbery at the Pine Island Bank in Pine Island this morning. A suspect in the attempted robbery was later arrested in Dodge County along Highway 57.

The release doesn't name the suspect, as they are also believed to be the same individual that was involved in another robbery that took place earlier in the day in Rochester.

The release states that at "10:04am the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office was advised of an attempted robbery at the Pine Island Bank in Pine Island. Going off a description of the suspect, a Goodhue County Deputy spotted an individual matching the description driving a vehicle west of Pine Island. The vehicle headed south on Highway 57 and was pulled over around 10:20am in Dodge County."

The Pine Island school was locked down as a precaution after the robbery took place, but was released from that lockdown a short time later.

The FBI is also involved in this case. The suspect was turned over to the Rochester police department wasn't identified.
