A Des Moines, Iowahospital is being sued after a complete stranger walked in and fed a baby in the NICU.

Back in December 2021, police reports show the man apparently experienced no security as he slipped past a nurse, fed the baby from a bottle, and left. No harm came to the baby, but the parents were understandably horrified.

At the time it happened, the Des Moines Police Department's Sergeant Paul Parizek said on KCCI,

"We don't know what his true intent was, or what he was planning on doing further down the road...We need to get him identified so we can at least hear his side of the story and have our investigators better understand what was going on."

Let's Add Another Layer of Terrifying for Parents

The parents are seeking damages against MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines and the man eventually charged for the crime, Adam Wedig.

As the stranger was feeding their baby, the mom and dad were resting at the Ronald McDonald House because their child was being treated for heart problems.

Wedig was charged with two counts of criminal trespassing but still hasn't said why he fed the baby.

Personal Note: Are you kidding me here? Guy just walks into the NICU, pretends he's the baby's dad and starts feeding the baby? And bad enough that happened, but also, the baby is in the hospital because there's a heart condition!

Furious and frightened would be, I think, just the beginning.
