The Steele County Blades junior hockey team made the most of its one-game weekend beating River Falls 5-1 Saturday night.

The Blades scored early in the game as Soren Colstrup notched his team-leading 10th goal 4:19 into the first period. He also assisted on Jake Freise's goal 10 minutes later. Colton Sprenger provided helpers on each first-period goal, bringing his assist total to nine to lead the team.

Defenseman Tristan Klewsaat scored his first goal of the season five minutes into the second period. Klewsaat told KRFO radio in a player profile interview that goal scoring is not one of his strengths. He also assisted on Colstrup's goal.

Kyle Wadden assisted on Klewsaat's goal then potted one of his own two minutes later to cancel out a goal the Renegades had just scored. Steele County's Kory Potach closed out the scoring midway through the second period of the 5-1 Blades victory.

Shots were even at 39. Tim Grounds made 38 saves for the win. Steele County went 0-for-9 on power play chances. The Blades (7-3-1) host Chicago (9-4-1) at Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna on November 11-12. Face off is 7:30PM each night.
