Tuesday afternoon was beautiful, but rain late Monday left fields too wet for Owatonna to open its fast-pitch softball season.

The Huskies' game against Farmington is postponed to an undetermined date. The Tigers edged Owatonna 1-0 in a late-season game in 2016 and went on to finish as section runner-up. OHS and Farmington each return most of last season's roster. Owatonna will open their season Thursday at Red Wing. The Big Nine Conference website shows the Huskies' new home opener as Saturday at 1PM versus Rochester JM at Morehouse Park.

Wet fields at Willow Creek are forcing Owatonna's junior varsity and ninth-grade baseball teams to go to Red Wing on Thursday. The varsity will still host the Wingers on Thursday at 5PM at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park on KRFO AM 1390.
