By the end of the day Sunday, we'll know the two teams that will be playing in this year's Super Bowl in Los Angeles. We know the game itself will be played on Sunday, February 13th. But should an event this big be held on a Sunday evening? Is it time to move the big game to Saturday?

The question is usually tossed around every year as we get closer to the big game, but this year is different. KCCI reports that a high school student in Florida started a petition at Change.org a couple of years ago. It got plenty of attention and this year, it reached a milestone. Over 100,000 people have signed on, agreeing with the premise that the Super Bowl should be moved to Saturday.

The reasons for changing the day for the big game are familiar. Tens of millions of people skip work the following Monday. The ones that do show up are less productive. Plus, kids have school the next day and if they live on the East Coast, they might not catch the end of the game. Personally, living in Iowa and in the Central Time Zone, watching the Super Bowl has never really been an issue. The game starts just after 5 p.m. and even with a long halftime show, it's over before 9 p.m. And I get up for work at 3:30 a.m.!

KCCI reports that because the petition has so many signatures, it will likely be discussed with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Honestly, I believe that this will eventually get changed. I mean, they play regular-season NFL games on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. During the playoffs, we even get Saturday games. So why not move the Super Bowl to a Saturday?
