A lot of people were bummed out when Toys R Us announced that they were closing. For many, it felt like a piece of their childhood had died. Well, you can turn that frown upside down because Toys R Us isn't dead.

The store is actually doing quite well in other parts of the world and has adapted by using social media platforms like Tik Tok to grow its reach. Now, Geoffrey the Giraffe is ready to bring toys and games back to brick-and-mortar locations.

Toys R Us will be opening several stores in Minnesota before the holidays. Read more about that below, but first, here's how we got here:

Toys 'R' Us announced they were going to close down all 735 of its U.S. stores in March of 2018. Liquidation sales started shortly after that announcement.

In Rochester, Toys R Us, located at 808 Apache Ln SW, had a huge blowout sale to get rid of everything. Items were discounted by 60-80% as the store tried to get rid of its inventory.

Toys R Us Reopening Soon In Minnesota

Toys and games will be on shelves before the holiday season and in some cases before kids go back to school.

Toys R Us will be opening up 1,000 sq foot stores inside all Macy's locations throughout the United States.

CNN says some locations could open in the next couple of weeks: "The stores will open beginning in late July through October 15th. Macy’s plans some customer-friendly perks, including demonstration tables for new toys and a life-size Geoffrey giraffe photo opp."

There are several Macy's stores operating in Minnesota which means several new spots to find toys and games for Christmas.
