Rochester Teenager Pleads Guilty To 118 MPH Speeding Ticket
Rochester, MN(KROC AM News) - The Rochester teenager recently caught driving nearly 120 mph has pleaded guilty.
Court records show 19-year-old Austin Riese entered a guilty plea Tuesday in Olmsted County Court to a misdemeanor speeding charge. A reckless driving charge was dismissed.
Riese was fined $300 and assessed $90 in fees. He was also placed on probation for up to a year and told to stay out of trouble.
Riese was caught driving 118 mph on Highway 52 near the 19th St bridge in northwest Rochester on May 3rd. The speed limit in that area is 60 mph.
Records show Riese was convicted of speeding three times last year, twice for driving in excess of 80 mph. He was also convicted of speeding in 2019 when he was 17-years-old.
He is one of several motorists recently caught driving in excess of 100 mph in the Rochester area.
