Rochester Man Arrested For DWI After Rear-Ending Squad Car

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -. A Rochester man was arrested on suspicion of DWI and other charges Tuesday after crashing into the rear of an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office patrol car and a bus.
The incident happened around 6:00 PM as the deputy driving the squad had stopped for a red light at the intersection of 3rd Ave and 4th St SE, near the Law Enforcement Center.
The driver then backed up and drove off. That’s when he sideswiped a Rochester Public Transit bus. The deputy was able to stop the man a few blocks away and he was arrested.
The deputy - who was headed to the LEC as his shift was ending - was not hurt.
Arrested was 45-year-old Eduardo Garcia-Gutierrez. A breath test showed his blood/alcohol concentration was .21.
