Road Construction in the City of Owatonna Begins June 10

A somewhat lengthy road construction project in Owatonna is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 10. A roundabout at the intersection of County Highway 1 and Highway 34 or Cedar Avenue and 26th Street will be built in several stages beginning Monday.

At first the south leg of the intersection will be closed for construction. A detour will be posted for Cedar Avenue using 19th St NE and 3rd Avenue NE.

Once this is completed the north leg will be closed with a detour posted. During work on this segment, northbound traffic will not be able to turn left onto 26th Street. Traffic will be detoured using 19th Street NE and 3rd Avenue NE, then will follow westbound traffic through the intersection.

The projected completion date is August 16. This of course will depend on the weather.
