Be prepared to ramble like never before, in a time most have never experienced before. The River Bend Nature Center is now selling tickets for its largest fundraiser of the year.

According to a press release from the River Bend Nature Center members of the public are being invited to the 39th annual A River Bend the week of September 19, 2020. The Ramble is River Bend’s largest fundraiser supporting the organization’s mission.

Since March people have utilized the River Bend Nature Center to escape the stress and uncertainty of the times. River Bend's visitors continue to discover and rediscover how important River Bend Nature Center is to individuals, families, the community, and the planet. The press release goes on to say that "River Bend Nature Center has been here for over 40 years because of PEOPLE LIKE YOU and your help is critical at this time."

You can help River Bend fundraise through sponsorships, donations, or simply by buying tickets to “A Ramble Like Never Before” which will occur from Saturday, September 19 through September 26! The week has fun events for all ages including:

Saturday, Sept. 19, 10am-1pm Pancake Brunch to-go
Sunday, Sept. 20 Virtual RBNC Tour & Start of week-long Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday, Sept. 22, 6:30pm Adult Virtual Nature Trivia
Wednesday, Sept. 23, 10am-3pm Walk with a Naturalist
Friday, Sept. 25, 5:30pm Music on the Prairie: Little Chicago Band at River Bend Nature Center
Saturday, Sept. 26, 2-4pm VIRTUAL MAIN EVENT: Featured Auction Items, River Bend Nature Center impact stories, Fund a Need, and Wine/Beer Raffle

Other activities happening at the River Bend Nature Center are:

Stewardship Days: Are You Feeling Squirrelly? on Monday, August 24 and Friday, August 28 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Join River Bend Staff and channel your inner squirrel as we make our way around the nature center collecting acorns. These acorns will be planted at other locations throughout the nature center to increase and enhance native hardwood forest species. Fun for all ages! Wear pants and close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle.
