The Rice County Sheriff's Office received a call about 4 this morning of a stolen ATV in Wells Township.  It didn't take long to track down the alleged culprits thanks to a Sheriff's Department ATV and drone unit.

The theft was reported in the 5000 block of 185th Street West in Wells Township.  The owner called and said his ATV and utility trailer were just stolen.  The trailer was attached to the ATV according to a Rice County Sheriff's Department news release.

Deputies arrived in the area and located the alleged suspect.  He fled from deputies on the stolen ATV.  With the use of a Sheriff's Department ATV and drone unit they tracked down the suspect and he was taken into custody.

Rice County Sheriff's Office Investigator Sergeant Nathan Budin says, "Deputies were also able to locate an accomplice to this crime and she was arrested as well.  No one was injured during the incident."

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Faribault Police Department.

Jesse Colin Guy. 40, was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Fleeing.  He appeared in court and bail was set at $200,000 with no conditions and $100,000 with conditions.

The alleged accomplice, Jamie Ennis, 40, was charged with Aiding and Abetting a Theft and was released on her own recognizance.

The Sheriff's Office says Guy has numerous cases pending in Rice County.  They outlined them in the news release.

  • September 2019- 3rd Degree Burglary
