The Rice County Board of Commissioners held their first meeting of 2020 today and completed some of their initial meeting duties.  Dave Miller of Faribault was chosen Chairman and Jeff Docken of rural Northfield the Vice-Chairman of the board.

Commissioners set the Committee of the Whole/Work Session meetings for the first and third Tuesday of the month.  The Regular County Board meetings will be the second and fourth Tuesday.  All starting 8:30 a.m.

Commissioner Committee assignments were made.

The County Board unanimously approved the Channel Inn Warsaw their renewal application for retail sale of beer, liquor and tobacco 2:00 a.m. license/permit.

Sheriff Troy Dunn requested approval for out-of-state travel with the National Sheriff's Association for a Legislative Conference in Washington. DC in February.  It was unanimously passed.

County Attorney John Fossum requested out-of-state travel to Washington, DC later this month as part of a National Best Practices Committee meeting sponsored by Prosecutor's Center for Excellence and National District Attorney's Association.

Jill Ellingson was appointed to the Rice County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment.
