Two winner's bracket Region 5C amateur baseball games will be on the airwaves from Owatonna today.  The Cannon Falls Bears play the Lake City Serpents at 1:00 p.m. and coverage on KDHL will begin approximately 12:50 p.m.  The Wanamingo Jacks and Red Wing Aces play the 4:00 p.m. winner's bracket contest on POWER 96 Radio with coverage approximately 3:45 p.m. if the games are on time.  The winners qualify for the State Tournament.

The Bears are 12-13 and split with the Serpents during the regular season.  Each team won on the road.  Lake City has a 8-9 record according to their schedule listing on their MBA website page.  Jared Woodward got the win for the Bears even though they only had 3 hits in the game and Lake City cranked out 10 hits.  In the game at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls Kyle Sursely pitched for the Serpents victory.  Lake City had 8 hits and Cannon Falls 5 hits.

The Bears started the season 0-5 and 2-8 in their first 10 games.  Since their win over Lake City on June 10th they are 10-5.

Wanamingo and Red Wing played on May 22nd in Red Wing and the Aces picked up a 6-3 win.  This game features two teams that love to run according to statistics on the MBA website pages for each team.  Red Wing has 38 stolen bases and Wanamingo 35 stolen bases.

The Jacks are 16-10 and Aces 13-15 this season.  Both teams had first round byes in the Region 5C Tournament.  The Aces defeated Owatonna 4-2 and Wanamingo rolled over Winona 10-1 in games last Sunday.

Saturday scores were Owatonna 9-3 over Pine Island, Rochester 3-0 over Dodge County, Stewartville/Racine defeated Waseca 9-1.  No score listed for Winona versus Dodge County game.
