Southern Minnesota dominates the latest Minnesota Baseball Coaches Association rankings of high school teams.
The Randolph Rockets sit atop Class A with defending State Champions Hayfield on their heels.
The Rockets are 17-1 overall following a 13-2 win over Schaeffer Academy in Rochester Friday and 7-0 win over Mayer Lutheran on the road today.
KDHL saw the Vikings pick up two no-hitters in a double header against Kenyon-Wanamingo Friday night. Senior Karver Heydt won the 7 inning Gopher Conference game that ended after 6 innings 12-1 and junior Ethan Pack threw a no-hitter in the 5 inning 15-1 second game.
Hayfield bested Class 3A Austin today in Packerland 9-5 to improve their record to 18-2.
Randolph and the Vikings are co-champions of the Gopher Conference. The Rockets defeated Hayfield in Rockets country 6-5 in 8 innings.
The Vikings have scheduled a playoff tune-up game with Class 3A state ranked Byron 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at home.
No secret why the two Gopher Conference teams are so good. Randolph has a team batting average of .339, on base percentage of .454.
The Rockets are averaging 9.5 hits, 10.7 runs per game. Their pitching has been equally impressive with a team ERA of 0.96, opponent batting average of .158.

The Fairmont Cardinals are atop the Class 2A rankings with Section 1 Chatfield #5.
Class 3A has Big Nine Conference Champions Mankato West on top and undefeated and Hiawatha Valley League Champions Byron #3.
The largest schools South Suburban teams Farmington and Rosemount are #1 and #7 respectively.
