Prep Sports Schedule – Tuesday, January 26
Tuesday, January 26 local sports highlights: The Medford girls basketball team, who shared the Gopher Conference title with Waterville-Elysian-Morristown last winter, hosts the Buccaneers. The Owatonna boys and girls basketball teams match up with Rochester Mayo. The Spartans have owned the head-to-head series over the last couple of seasons.
Medford's girls are off to a 3-0 start with a couple of come-from-behind wins over TCU and NRHEG. WEM is 2-1 with a close loss to top-20 ranked Lake Crystal-Welcome-Memorial. The Tigers' game Friday, January 29 at Faribault Bethlehem Academy will be carried on Power 96 Radio.
Mayo has swept the OHS basketball teams in each of the last two seasons. On Tuesday, the Huskies boys (2-1) will host the Spartans (1-2) on AM 1390 KRFO, now simulcasting on 94.7 FM. The OHS girls (1-2) go to Mayo (3-0) on Kat Kountry 105 FM. The Spartans are led by Drake University (Division I) commit Anna Miller. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm for each contest.
