A news release from the Apple Valley Police Department says officers were dispatched to a Huntington Bank branch on the report of a robbery around 10 a.m. Thursday. Officers learned the suspect entered the branch, produced a handgun and demanded the clerk give him money from the safe.

Police say staff members entered the safe together, locked the door and called police. The suspect then fled the bank before officers responded.

Police in Lakeville also responded to a robbery report at a Wells Fargo branch shortly before 1:30 p.m. The suspect also brandished the hand gun and demanded money before fleeing the bank prior to officers arrival, police say.

The suspect in the Apple Valley robbery is described as a thin black male and was seen wearing a hood and yellow disposable mask. Lakeville police describe their robbery suspect as a black male in his 20’s.

Lakeville Police say the FBI is assisting their investigation. As of Friday morning, no arrests have been announced.
