Owatonna Young Life announced in an email this week that they are moving to a new location that will accommodate weekly events in addition to their offices. Young Life will begin operating out of 602 Hoffman Drive on February 1, 2019. Some modifications are being made in the meantime to make it, "an inviting place for Owatonna kids to come" according to the email.

The space is being rented from Karen and Mark Peterson, who have been longtime supporters of Young Life, and whose daughter Nikki is on Young Life staff in Colorado. There is a 'wish list' of items to create the desired atmosphere such as some furniture, a refrigerator and ping pong table among them. Contact Young Life if you can help.

Some big dates in the new year include April 13 for the 41st Young Life Cake Auction, June 18-23 for RealLife Camp at Castaway Club, June 23-28 Young Life Wilderness trip to Colorado, July 7-14 Young Life camp in Missouri and August 2-6 WyldLife camp at Castaway Club. Forms and more information are available on their website.

In a November letter to supporters, Owatonna Young Life Area Director Lindsay Thompson reflected on her first year, stating, "I am thankful to live in a community that supports Young Life and the impact it is making on our kids. As one of those kids, over 20 years ago, I can't help but be overwhelmed with gratitude by the decades of support.

"As I spend more time with high schoolers, I have become fully aware of the immense need for positive Christ-centered adults in their lives," she wrote.

Thompson commented on the different programs, "Lisa Lehrer, our WyldLife Director, heads up a bi-weekly middle school club. The energy in the room is almost unbelievable...Jane Elsner is continuing to direct our ReaLife and our Walk With Me programs which have been in the community for ten years."

Fall fundraising is off to a strong start, she reports. Notes in the annual report include 56 kids and seven leaders attended Crooked Creek and that 16 students and four leaders went on the Wilderness backpacking trip.
