Owatonna Roars from Behind with Fast-Break & First-Time Goals
The Huskies were trailing 6-4 midway through the second quarter of a Big Nine boys lacrosse game at Rochester Century High School. The Panthers had converted three man-up goals out of six opportunities. OHS didn't commit another penalty until midway through the third quarter and scored eight straight goals for what turned into a 12-7 win.
OHS used the fast break in their quick-strike attack. Freshman Michael scored his first varsity goal and added two more for a hat trick. Caleb Hullopeter had his first goal of the season and added one more. Preston Meier had a double hat trick. Beckett Seykora also scored.
Goalie Korban Stricklin had several big saves, including one as time was running out in the first quarter to preserve what was then a 3-3 tie. Sam Prieffer was indicated as a player of the game by the Huskies' Twitter account.
Owatonna (2-2) plays at Rochester Mayo on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:30 pm with radio coverage on Kat Kountry 105 FM.
