Officer Matson’s Pastor Gives Update and Fundraiser Information
Last night around 7pm Waseca Police Officer Arik Matson's Pastor from Hope Church in Albert Lea gave a video update from the family and also announced some ways you can help the Matson family during this time of uncertainty. One of those ways is to attend their night of prayer Thursday, January 9th.
Pastor Kaleb Hurley of Hope Church in Albert Lea took to social media to give a brief update about Arik, and a message from Arik's wife Megan.
Pastor Kaleb let people know that surgery was successful on Arik yesterday and that there is still a long journey left for Arik when it comes to recovery.
Also announced in the video was the GoFundMe page for Officer Matson that as of this morning had raised about $100,000 to go towards medical bills and other forms of financial support for Arik's wife and two daughters.
The night of prayer for the Matson family was also announced for Thursday night from 6-8pm at 3402 Hoeger Lane in Albert Lea. You can get more info here.
Other ways you can assist the family would be to make a donation at these financial institutions:
City & County Employees Credit Union Skyline Plaza, 1719 W. Main Street, Albert Lea
Farmers State Bank of Freeborn, Hartland or Albert Lea
Last night many people throughout the state of Minnesota turned on their porch lights from 8-9pm to show support to the Matson family. We had ours on and it was really amazing to see almost every house in my neighborhood light up their porches at 8pm also in support.
