Two people were battling for the endorsement for attorney general at the Democratic Convention in Rochester. Incumbent Lori Swanson and Northfield Native and Attorney Matt Pelikan.

60 votes were needed for endorsement. Swanson got 52 Pelikan got 47. Then Swanson pulled out  And she gave no reason for pulling out and did not say if she would face Pelikan in the August primary election.

According to the Northfield News, he attacked Swanson from the convention stage, criticizing what he called her not taking action against drug makers and avoiding or dropping other important causes.

Candidates have until Tuesday to file for the primary. The winner of the primary faces Doug Wardlow, who the Republicans endorsed at their Duluth convention.
