No Injuries Reported After Rough Crash Landing in Minnesota Field
Cambridge, MN (KROC-AM News) The pilot of the small plane and his teenage passenger came away unscathed after a rough crash landing in a Minnesota cornfield last night.
The Isanti County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred around 8 PM near Cambridge and east-central Minnesota. The responding deputies found the 40-year-old pilot and 18-year-old passenger outside of the single-engine aircraft when they arrived at the scene.
The pilot told the deputies that he began experiencing engine problems shortly after taking off from the Cambridge airport. He attempted to return to the airport but the airplane lost power and he decided to attempt an emergency landing in the cornfield. The pilot and his passenger are both from Anoka County. Their names were not released.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to investigate the incident.
