NFL Draft a Hit; Vikings Grade-Out Well
Whether it was because sports fans are starved for live sports, or a byproduct of no other sports on to draw fans elsewhere, the NFL draft was a record-breaker. The first of its kind virtual draft broke viewership records. The Minnesota Vikings set a record of their own with 15 picks in a seven-round draft.
The team graded-out very well with some of the national media and local Vikings fan Todd Walkingstick is happy to agree with that assessment. He admits that he is a homer, but he has also seen a lot of games and is a Vikings season ticket holder. He joined me on AM 1390 KRFO Monday afternoon to discuss the results.
Walkingstick believes Minnesota selected players that have showed nice leadership abilities in college. Additionally, he feels the players can make an impact on the field right. In some cases, with the Vikings losing several defensive backs in free agency, for instance, the young players will be in a trial-by-fire situation.
