The recall is for both 2021 and 2022 model year Mach-E's built May 27, 2020 - May 23, 2022, at Ford's Cuautitlán, Mexico plant. If you're in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or anywhere across the USA, read on.

48,924 Mustang Mach-E's Sold in the USA are involved in the recall.

This means almost half of the 100,000 Mach-Es produced have the potential to overheat the car's high voltage battery main contactors (a switch for the power). How dangerous is this? Well, it could keep the vehicle from starting, or, it could cause the loss of power while in motion.

According to CNBC,

"The recall is notable, as automakers continue to have problems launching new electric vehicles. Ford, in recent years, also has experienced problematic vehicle launches, leading to high recall and warranty costs."

If you own one of the Mustang Mach-Es, you can wait for the letter from Ford, or get in touch with your dealer. You'll be able to have the fix done with a software update where ever you are, or you'll be able to bring it into the dealer.
