Minnesota’s Take A Kid Hunting Weekend
It's Take a Kid Hunting weekend in Minnesota this Saturday and Sunday. Adult Minnesota residents accompanied by a youth younger than age 16 can hunt small game without a license on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24. However, you must comply with open seasons, limits and other regulations according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Meanwhile duck season opens on Saturday. The daily duck bag limit is six per day.
The DNR has announced that they would like to hear from Minnesotans who would like to serve on committees that review how the Minnesota department of Natural Resources spends game and fish fund dollars. At least 12 people are needed to serve on the Fisheries Oversight and Wildlife Oversight committees as about half of the current members' terms expire this December 14. As part of the committee you would be responsible for reviewing the agency's annual Game and Fish Fund Report and than after meeting with agency leaders, you would write a report on the findings of the review.
