Minnesota Zoo’s Spooky Glowing Jack-O-Lantern Trail Is a Must-See This Fall
As we are approaching the month of October, Minnesota is becoming a little more Spooky. The Minnesota Zoo has announced that they will be having what they are calling the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular this fall. This Halloween themed event will run October 1st through November 3rd on the Minnesota Zoo grounds.
According to the Zoo's website, this 33-day event will feature around 20,000 Jack-O-Lanterns. On a given night you will see around 5,000 pumpkins. You can find them on the ground, in the trees, on benches, and anywhere you could possibly think of. No one pumpkin will be the same! There will even be fog machines and other effects to make it feel spooky.
The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular trail is about a quarter-mile long and they say it will take about 40-50 minutes to walk through the pumpkin display, but that does depend on your group.
If you are planning on attending, you can only get tickets online, so plan accordingly. The website also says this is a rain or shine event. "In the case of light to moderate rain, the event will be open. There will be no refunds or rescheduling. Minnesota Zoo management will close the event if there is a threat of heavy rain and high winds."
Pricing depends on which night you go and how old you are. It ranges from $12-$18 and if you have a zoo membership, it's a tad cheaper. Hopefully, you'll be able to check out this cool event. The hours are Sunday-Thursday: 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Friday-Saturday: 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
This event is kid-friendly. The MN Zoo says their goal is "to delight and amaze, not to scare anyone." However, they do say that children who are sensitive to a lot of visual and sound stimulus might not be comfortable. Get more details on the Minnesota Zoo website.
