Minnesota Twins Unveil 2020 Homer Hankies
With the Minnesota Twins heading into the post-season beginning tomorrow, the team has unveiled the 2020 edition of the Homer Hanky.
The coronavirus pandemic had forced Major League Baseball to shorten the usual 162-game regular season to just sixty games -- all played without fans in any of the league's ball parks.
The Twins finished the regular season with a record of 36-24, and an American League Central Division championship for the second straight year, finishing just one game ahead of both the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox.
AL Central Final Standings
- Minnesota Twins
- Cleveland Indians (1.0 game back)
- Chicago White Sox (1.0 game back)
- Kansas City Royals (10.0 games back)
- Detroit Tigers (12.0 games back)
The original Homer Hanky was born during the Minnesota Twins 1987 playoff run, that eventually resulted in a World Series Championship.
The Twins will host the Houston Astros in the first round of the 2020 Major League Baseball playoffs starting tomorrow. As the number-three seed in the American League, the Twins will host the sixth-seeded Astros for the best-of-three series at Target Field.
