What is hockey without the iconic hockey hair? I think we all can agree it is just as important as the state high school tournament itself.

The pandemic limited (or actually eliminated) our attendance at the Xcel Energy Center for this year's hockey extravaganza -- but it was carried on TV.

Few things celebrate the spirit of Minnesota like the State Fair, the fishing opener, and the annual State High School All Hockey Hair Team videos.

As the video says this year:

We questioned whether we should even make the flow-vid, during COVID.

Game On MN has been creating these State High School All Hockey Hair Team videos since 2011. This year they teamed up with Arby's to make it happen, to help raise money for the Hendrickson Foundation. This Minnesota foundation that works to support disabled hockey programs in Minnesota, with the goal of making hockey accessible to all people.

One of the big hair trends at the tournament this year was the addition of braids and buns, as the girl's tournament was played at the same time as the boy's event.

2021 was another great year for hockey and a great year for hair. Check out the recap in the video below. Also congrats to Proctor/Hermantown and Edina on for winning the state tourney on the girls side! Same to Gentry Academy & Eden Prairie on the boys end of things.

Basketball hair is just simply not the deal that hockey hair, flow, and salad is -- bu the games themselves are very good stuff. The Minnesota State High School League will crown boys & girls basketball champions for 2021 this week.
