Minnesota pet food company, Tuffy's Pet Foods, is making Girl Scout-branded dog treats for our furry, four-legged friends! According to a press release, they will be "Soft & Chewy Dog Treats" and come in three different flavors, "chicken, bacon, and lamb."

The treats are available in 5 oz. or 12 oz. packages and were launched nationwide last month, in June. To be honest, when I saw that Girl Scouts was making dog treats I was really hoping it was going to be a dog-friendly version of their cookies, but no.

Even though they aren't dog versions of the famous Girl Scout cookies, I'm pretty pumped that they chose a Minnesota pet food company to make the treats! Tuffy's Pet Foods is located in Perham, by the way.

The Girl Scout Soft & Chewy Dog Treats' number one ingredient is real meat, according to the press release. The treats are also gluten-free, soy-free, and corn-free, "and are high in anti-oxidants."

I don't have a dog (yet) but I'm seriously considering buying a bag (or 5) of these for my parents' dog! If you want to get these treats for your dog or a friend's dog or a stranger's dog (ok, maybe not that last one) you can find them at girlscoutpettreats.com or on Amazon. The press release also says that in the coming months the treats will also be able to be found "in the pet section of your favorite local retailer."
