Byron, MN (KROC AM News) - Authorities are trying to locate the driver of a car who hit a boy who was riding a bike in Byron.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says the 12-year-old was struck around 6:30 PM Monday while riding on the road near the intersection of 9th St and 2nd Ave NW.

The boy says the driver of the car stopped to check on him. The boy said after telling the driver he was okay, the man drove off. The boy then went home and told his father, who called 911.

The boy described the driver as white, in his 40s and wearing glasses. He said the car was a small, red model.

The boy’s injuries were described as minor.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the sheriff's office.
