Minnesota Delegation in Congress has introduced bipartisan legislation to award Prince the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor. The legislation is led by US Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in the house.

According to Rolling Out, the measure is also backed by Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) and Representatives Jim Hagedorn (R-MN), Angie Craig (D-MN), Dean Phillips (D-MN), Betty McCollum (D-MN), Tom Emmer (R-MN), Michelle Fischbach (R-MN), and Pete Stauber (R-MN).

In order to pass, The Hill says, two-thirds of the House and Senate will need to support the bill for it to pass. If this legislation is successful, the medal would be "in recognition of his achievements and contributions to the culture of the United States," according to the Star Tribune.
