There is nothing like having a long stressful day at work and coming home to a four-legged friend that is so excited to see you. Having an animal in your life can be stressful, but it is also very rewarding.

According to Bring Me The News, a Minneapolis animal shelter is on a mission to get all of their animals forever homes before the holidays. This Friday (November 22), Minneapolis Animal Care & Control is holding an adoption event from 1 pm to 6 pm. Between this time, all adoption fees will be waved. Most of the time the adoption fees on cats and dogs for residents are $50. If you are not a resident, the adoption fees range from $100 to $250. For some of the exotic birds, you could pay up to $1,000. These are the fees that are being waved.

The article says it will not be completely free to adopt because you will still have to buy your pet license. Those range between $15 and $30 and could be more if your animals aren't spayed or neutered.

The event will take place at the Minneapolis Animal Care & Control ( 212 17th Ave N, Minneapolis). The article says you'll be asked to spend time with the animal before you are able to fill out the adoption paperwork. Adoptions will be done on a first come first serve bases, but if multiple people are interested in the same animal there will be a drawing to determine which forever home the animal gets. Once again this event is happening on Friday from 1 pm to 6 pm.

If you are planning on taking an animal home, it's best to come prepared. They say all cats have to have a carrier and all dogs have to have a leash to leave on.  If I could, I would adopt them all, but I currently don't have the room for that at my house! :)
