Local resident and author Larry Richie will be talking about his new book, 'Footsteps Along The Straight River' on Tuesday's Am Minnesota. Gordy Kosfeld will be the host.

Larry has given various talks about some of the history of Faribault. He is scheduled to do a book signing on Thursday, May 10th at the Rice County Historical Society.  He will be giving a program about Alexander Faribault.

According to the historical society website, Alexander Faribault was a fur trader, town founder, politician, businessman, and philanthropist. He was also half Native American, and kin to the Dakota. Learn about Alexander Faribault’s life and how he inspired others.

The cost of this program is $3.00 for Non-members and free for Members and will be held in the Carlander Family Room at the Rice County Historical Society located at 1814 NW Second Ave., on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 7 pm.
