It just may have been the best month of his career, but can he keep it up? Can he answer the bell in a primetime setting? Can he lift the Vikings to somewhere they haven't been?

Those are all the questions that surround Kirk Cousins and in the month of October, he answered them with a loud YES. The Vikings went 4-0 and Cousins threw for 1,261 yards and 10 touchdowns in the month. He also finished with a passer rating of 137.1 while completing 78.4 of passes. His performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Month, according to Vikings.com

Now, can Cousins continue on the hot streak? The Vikings opponents in October were not great, there is no secret about it. The Vikings opponents in October have a combined record of 10-20-1 and have struggled defensively all season.

Up next for the Vikings, Cousins and company will see the lights shine bright as the squad travels to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs then to Dallas to battle the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

It will be important for Cousins' professional reputation to continue to play well in big games. A couple of wins in prime spots could show that the Vikings are legit contenders this season. A couple of deflating losses could show the Vikings' true colors, again.

Cousins has been great this year, throwing for 1,997 yards and 13 touchdowns through eight games, along with a passer rating of 115.1, which is second in the NFL. This is the third time he has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Month. The other two times were with Washington in November of 2016 and December of 2015.

The Vikings are 6-2, and the lights are about to shine even brighter. Can Cousins continue the streak of excellent play? We will see over the next few weeks.
