On Friday, Minnesota-based Kemps just donated 500,000 cartons of shelf-stable milk to local food shelves. It's part of a campaign called "The Giving Cow Project" that Kemps, Cub Foods, and Second Harvest Heartland are partners in. Fittingly, this shelf-stable milk from Kemps is called The Giving Cow.

Kemps says on their website that "milk is one of the most requested items at food shelves, yet it’s one of the least donated, because it requires refrigeration throughout the entire journey from donation to table.'

The Giving Cow milk is different. Bring Me the News writes that this "2% milk is packaged in 8 oz. airtight cartons (branded to look like little cows), which can last up to a year thanks to a process called ultra-high temperature pasteurization."

If you're wanting to help out and buy some of this milk to then donate to a food shelf, unfortunately, The Giving Cow milk is not available for purchase. However, Kemps says that "every time you buy a gallon of Kemps Select and Kemps Milk, you help us donate The Giving Cow cartons to kids-in-need."

Hang out with Carly Ross on The Mighty 920 KDHL weekdays 1-5pm!
