Man's best friend is not your best friend if you are running from the police. A K9 and his human partner combined to locate two burglary suspects in Becker County last week. Each suspect was taken into custody without further incident after a 15-mile police chase near Buffalo Lake September 4.

Officials report on the Becker County Sheriff's Facebook page that they were called to a burglary around noon on Friday. One suspect was taken into custody but at least one other was at large. A member of law enforcement spotted a suspicious vehicle with a passenger that apparently matched a description of a suspect in the burglary.

The driver did not stop for police. Bring Me the News reports, "The police chase last about 15 miles, ending on the east side of Cotton Lake off County Highway 29, and the driver and passenger fled on foot."

A perimeter was set up for K9 Cooper and his human officer Deputy Bouchie. The dog tracked through the woods, "K9 Cooper located the female passenger who was taken into custody without incident. A second track was started for the driver. A short time later, K9 Cooper located the driver. He too was taken into custody."
