Jordan Brewers fans are raising their steins to the 2019 Class C Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Champions.  The Brewers defeated the Hutchinson Huskies 4-2 in the title game of the single elimination tournament earlier today in Delano.

It is the fourth title in the history of Jordan Brewers baseball.  The Huskies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.  The Brewers tallied a run in the fourth and 3 runs in the fifth inning.  Hutchinson made it interesting with a run in the 8th inning but Draftee Garrett Anderson from Blue Earth went the distance to pick up the victory for Jordan while scattering 9 hits and not allowing any home runs.

That was the key.  The Huskies had three home runs including two multi-run homers in their semifinal win over New Market Sunday and hit a blast against Waterville in the Elite 8 game earlier in the day.  Anderson struck out 5, walked 2.

Hutchinson's Marcus Hahn who hit two homers off New Market was hitless and Evan Kohli who had homers against Waterville and New Market was held to an RBI single in the game.

Kyle Messner started the contest for the Huskies.  He threw the first four innings with 5 hits allowed, 4 runs, 3 earned, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts.  No extra base hits.  Jeremiah VanDesteeg tossed 4 innings keeping Hutchinson in the game with 2 hits allowed, 4 strikeouts, 2 walks and no runs.

In fact Jordan did not have a extra base hit while Hutchinson clobbered two doubles.

The Brewers had 7 hits in the game, 3 stolen bases.  The Huskies were 1 for 2 in stolen base attempts.

Seven batters had hits in the game for Jordan.  Collecting RBI were Adam Kalal, Steven Beckman, Joe Lucas, Nate Beckman.

Joe Lucas was named the tournament MVP.  The Brewers won their previous Class C title in 1986 and captured Class B crowns in 1994 and 2004.
