Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man has pleaded guilty to a prostitution bust.

He was one of seven people charged in the case in the Spring of 2024. Local law enforcement created and posted online advertisements on websites known to be used by people seeking to purchase sex. 

The targets of the investigation were instructed to message a phone number provided on the ad to arrange for the illicit services, court documents say.

The Rochester Police Department, in partnership with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, the Olmsted County Attorney's Office, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension conducted what was termed a “proactive sex trafficking operation” on April 18 of last year.

Court documents say the men chatted online with an undercover officer who was posing as a person under the age of 18. The seven men were arrested after showing up at an agreed upon meeting location in Rochester. 

25-Year-Old Rochester Man Enters Guilty Plea for April 2024 Prostitution Sting

25-year-old Nicholas Robert Bain of Rochester was one of the seven arrested and charged after showing up at the meeting location. 

He was charged with one count of Prostitution-Actor Hires or Agrees to Hire and Reasonably Believes Under 18 but at least 16 years old

Last week, Bain entered a plea deal in which he agreed to admit to the felony charge. In exchange for the guilty plea, the prosecution agreed to seek a sentence without any additional jail time. 

Bain is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
