Rochester Man Accused of Taking Sexually Explicit Photos of Sleeping Girl

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester man is facing a pair of felony charges for allegedly taking lewd photos of a young girl.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Monday. The victim in the case is under the age of 14, the court document indicates.

Rochester Man Accused of Taking Lewd Photos of Sleeping Girl Facing Pair of Felony Charges

58-year-old Rotimi Samuel Olawale is charged with one count each of use of minors in sexual performance/pornographic work and possession of pornographic work.

Rochester police took the report of the sexually explicit photos on the night of July 16. 

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Olawale’s electronic devices. Police served the warrant at Olawale’s work place and seized a phone he had on him, according to the complaint. 

Lewd Images of Victim Found on Seized Phone

The court document says officers found lewd images of the victim that were taken while she was asleep at a Rochester home. 

The photos, which were located in the phone’s trash folder, were taken shortly before 9 a.m. on July 16, the charges say. 

Olawale denied taking the photos, the complaint says. 

Olmsted County Adult Detention Center records indicate Olawale was booked into the jail shortly after 3:00 Friday afternoon. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon.
