Scammers Are Using Kwik Trip’s Name In A Convincing New Scam
If there is one thing people are passionate about in our neck of the woods, it is Kwik Trip. This is something I have learned in my near-decade living in the Northland and I totally get it.
It has so many options when it comes to treats, snacks and food. You can even get much of your grocery list there. Ha!
Needless to say, people are obsessed and scammers must know as much because they have decided to tap into the loyal customers who frequent the business so much. Sigh.
I was doom-scrolling on social media the other day when I saw a post from the business, warning customers not to fall for a scam that was circulating. I can't lie - it does look pretty legit.
Kwik Trip Warns Customers About Anniversary Scam
Have you seen this? A fake ad has been making its way across social media with a fake promotion celebrating the '61st anniversary' of the business. The flyer looks a little fake but at first glance, you might fall for it or just get so excited you don't look too much into it!

The fake post encourages everyone to 'share' it on social media for a chance to win a gift card. The post even says that the more someone shares it, the more they can win. There is also a link that people are encouraged to click to enter, which appears to lead to a fake Kwik Trip website.
Sadly, this is a common ruse used by scammers to get people's personal information out of them in a clever way.
Kwik Trip reminds everyone in their post about the scam that unless something comes from their official, verified social media page it probably isn't real. There are so many scammers out there but even more fake social media pages so take a minute and verify something is coming from a legitimate one.

As always, don't give out any personal or banking information when it comes to things like this. It is more than likely a scam. Also, the random capitalized letters in the fake anniversary posts is also another tell tale sign - and my pet peeve. Ha!
Also - it doesn't hurt to do a quick Google search. Kwik Trip's birthday was in June and while it was their 61st anniversary in business, they wouldn't be celebrating months after the fact. A girl can dream though!
