Hy-Vee and Wahlberg Brothers To Open Restaurant At MOA
It's going to be the first of 26 Wahlburgers restaurants to open since the agreement between the grocery store chain and the famed brothers, Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg. May 22nd at the Mall of America, it becomes reality.
This is the first Minnesota location for the Boston Based chain, known for its proprietary blend of beef, housemade sauces and dressings, and sides such as smoked bacon mac n cheese and adult frappés.
According to the Star Tribune, the Grand opening will be celebrated May 31 with the three brothers making an appearance in the mall rotunda at 6 p.m.
Mark Wahlberg was briefly a member of New Kids on the Block and went on to be an underwear model, producer, and actor. Donnie was a founding member of New Kids and currently stars in "Blue Bloods" on CBS. Their older brother Paul is an executive chef, who started Wahlburgers with his two brothers.
The size of the restaurant is 5,500 square feet with a casual setting with music and a full bar will seat 200 and will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sun-Thurs. and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fri-Sat.
In the fall Hy-Vee plans to open another restaurant in the Jordan Creek Mall in West Des Moines, IA, It will also be getting at this time Wahlburgers Black Angus beef, including burger patties, mini patties and signature ground beef, all made with a blend of brisket, short rib, and chuck into their stores.
In addition to Hy-Vee locations in Faribault, Owatonna, Rochester, and Winona, there are 8 in the Twin Cities, in New Hope, Oakdale, Lakeville, Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Savage, Cottage Grove, and Shakopee. Robbinsdale will open in the fall.
