The pedigree of the teams competing in Owatonna's triangular wrestling meet Thursday, February 18 is impressive. The Huskies and Albert Lea have a long history of dominance in the Big Nine Conference and many state meet appearances between them.

Zumbrota-Mazeppa also has made their mark at state, including back-to-back state Class A titles in 2017 and 2018. But winning the Hiawatha Valley League has been tough with Class AA powerhouse Kasson-Mantorville to deal with. This year is different however, after the Cougars topped the KoMets 34-33 on Saturday, February 13. That ends a 12-year conference winning streak for KM, according to the Rochester Post Bulletin. The Huskies will face the Cougars at 5 pm with coverage on AM 1390 KRFO, now simulcasting as well at 94.7FM. ZM will face Albert Lea at about 6:30 pm with Owatonna versus Albert Lea at approximately 8 pm. OHS already edged AL earlier this season in the conference dual. Tonight's match will be considered non-conference.
