How to Get Your Ticket for Owatonna’s Home Football Opener
The Owatonna High School football team holds its home opener Friday, September 10 hosting Rochester Century at 7 pm. There are no limitations on fan attendance, unlike last year. The pep band and cheerleaders will be there. If you want to go to, the best way to get your ticket is in advance through a new HomeTown Ticketing Fan app or online format through the Owatonna activities website.
Huskies Activities Director Marc Achterkirch says most Big Nine teams and metro schools are moving toward electronic ticketing. It has already been place for volleyball and road soccer games this fall. OHS home soccer does not require a ticket for regular season matches at Lincoln Soccer Complex.
Fans can still pay at the gate, but there could be a delay. Spectators who have purchased their ticket, will have the QR code on their phone scanned. They can also print the tickets.
Acterkirch says, "This is also going to be for section events, this fall, winter and spring as well...It's just an online ticketing platform where folks can go and buy all their tickets online before they come to the game. We've also had quite a few families buy their activities passes...It's Hometown Ticketing."
He says the app is free, "You can download it on your phone and you can buy your tickets right from there...We'll have tickets (available) for games one to two weeks prior to the event. Click on it and go and buy their ticket. They'll have a QR code that's on their phone or they can have it emailed to them and they can print it out if they like."
"Come to the football game (Friday) night...We have a ticket taker scan their code and they walk right in. That way they don't have to stand in line and pay with cash." Achterkirch says those with electronic tickets will be through the gate in seconds, while those purchasing ticket may have to wait in line.
